Camp Westerbork

At the Camp Westerbork Memorial Centre, stories are told about more than one hundred thousand Jews, Sinti and Roma who were deported from the Netherlands to concentration and extermination camps during the Second World War. The site also tells the lesser-known stories of the camp’s later history. From 1951, for example, it became the “Schattenberg residential camp,” home to several thousand Moluccans for over twenty years.
